The Lowly Things

"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.  He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.  It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.  Therefore, as it is written: 'Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.'" 1 Corinthians 1:27-31

This verse is humbling and encouraging all at the same time. It puts us in our place and reminds us not to get caught up in admiring those for their position or fame. And it encourages me that God can use me too!

Great photo and verse. Thank you for sharing it!

We are, hopefully, pray fully, coming out of about 10 years of increasing drought here in Victoria Australia and it is the lowly flowers, the daisies, the pelagoniums, the things we took for granted that stayed the distance in the rugged times of drought where our lawn would turn to dust in the summer and be not that much better in the winter..however now in Autumn it is lush and green and we feel blessed..but oh how we appreciate the lowly plants.....the ones the stayed with us through the drought.
I love this verse...every once in a while I'll say something wise in a group where I'm not the wisest and I grin to myself, knowing that was God using me: the foolish among the wise, teehee! Love this verse, it's definitely a fun one to ponder!

Makes me think of that little saying, "God don't make no junk." Bad grammar, I know but ya get the point!! Happy WFW!

Amen to that! I am so grateful to God for choosing THIS lowly thing! What an awesome, merciful God! We would be nothing without Christ!
