Gentleness

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." 1 Peter 3:15-16

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Proverbs 15:1

This is something I have repeated to myself as a reminder with my children/husband when I'm frustrated. Let your gentleness be evident, your gentleness be evident. Not your meanness. ;)

Thanks for the reminder again!

Purple is often the color of royalty and holiness....it is a beautiful picture and a lovely reminder of a very precious and special gift of the spirit in our lives....the gift of gentleness.....

I went looking to check the facts of what I had written,

In the time of Christ, and much throughout history, the colour purple represented royalty and was worn by both men and women. It was worn almost exclusively by members of royal families and leaders of powerful empires. In some cultures it would have been punishable by death for someone "not of the blood of royalty" to wear the colour purple.

isn't that fantastic to think that as Children of the King it can be our color..one we are free to wear.

and then this one....I can do without the last two words...but you have chosen the right color to focus on a gift of the spirit..

Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.
