God reveals Himself in His Word and in His creation. It's a delight for me to "unwrap" each gift of wonder as I read aloud to my sons each chapter about different objects of nature such as dragonflies, hummingbirds, sand dollars, barnacles, lichens, beetles, toads, trees, and more. The book is divided into 5 sections based on habitat: Gifts of the Field, Gifts of the Air, Gifts of the Deep, Gifts of the Mountains, and Gifts of the Desert. Each chapter starts with an interesting quote and ends with "Wondercise" (hands-on activities) and Promise of Hope (encouraging Bible verse(s)). I learned quite a bit about plants and animals, enjoyed the spiritual lessons drawn from these natural wonders, and appreciated the detailed illustrations by Matthew Kondratieff.
Want to know your Creator better? Slow down and take time to savor His creation! Check out this unique, informative, and insightful book; prepare to be astonished :)! "The purpose of this book is to inspire wonder and appreciation for the works of art God has made. May you be drawn closer to the Craftman's side, fret less about daily living and fall deeper in love with the One Who made it all." (p. 14)
