Without Excuse

Below is a video that my 17 year old daughter made explaining why she believes God exists (within 1 minute). It is an entry for the Always Ready contest by Creation Science Evangelism. I would really appreciate it if you'd vote for her here :)! You don't need to be on Facebook. Just click "Vote Now". You can vote once per day through Nov. 28th. Thanks so much! Soli Deo Gloria!

Love Your Enemies

"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?" Matthew 5:44-47

"But I tell you who hear Me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." Luke 6:27-28

"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." Luke 6:35-36

Peace Like A River

"This is what the Lord says--your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.  If only you had paid attention to My commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea." "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." 1 Peter 3:15-16

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Proverbs 15:1

This Is My Father's World

This Is My Father's World written by Maltbie D. Babcock (1858-1901), sung by Fernando Ortega

This is my Father's world
and to my listening ears,
all nature sings and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world!
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas--
His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world--
the birds their carols raise;
the morning light, the lily white
declare their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world!
He shines in all that's fair;
in the rustling grass I hear Him pass--
He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world--
O let me ne'er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world!
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
and earth and heav'n be one.

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters." Psalm 24:1-2
It's obvious why I named my photo blog here "My Father's World" :).  I truly enjoy and appreciate the marvels of God's ceration all around me.  "The earth is full of His unfailing love." (Psalm 33:5b)   Thank You, Lord, for all the beauty of Your world and the love You have shown us through Your creation!

God You Reign

Performed by: Lincoln Brewster
Written by: Lincoln Brewster; Mia Fieldes

You paint the night; You count the stars
And You call them by name
The skies proclaim, God, You reign

Your glory shines; You teach the sun
When to bring a new day
Creation sings, God, You reign

God, You reign, God, You reign
Forever and ever, God, You reign

You part the seas, You move the mountains
With the words that You say
My song remains, God, You reign

You hold my life, You know my heart
And You call me by name
I live to say, God, You reign

God, You reign, God, You reign
Forever and ever, God, You reign
God, You reign, God, You reign
I know You reign
Forever and ever, God, You reign

Hallelujah, Hallelu, Hallelujah, Hallelu
Hallelujah, Hallelu, Hallelujah, Hallelu

God, God, You reign, God, You reign
You reign over me
Forever and ever, God, You reign
God, You reign, God, You reign
Reign over me
Forever and ever, God, You reign
God, You reign, God, You reign
Forever and ever, God, You reign
God, You reign, God, You reign
Forever and ever, God, You reign
God, You reign, God, You reign
Forever and ever, God, You reign
God, You reign, God, You reign
(God, You reign, God, You reign)
Forever and ever, God, You reign
(God, You reign)

"The Lord reigns forever; He has established His throne for judgment. He will judge the world in righteousness; He will govern the peoples with justice. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You." Psalm 9:7-10

"The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice." Psalm 97:1

"The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the Lord." Psalm 146:10

"Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!" Revelation 19:6b-7a

Temporary vs. Eternal

"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4: 17-18

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." Romans 8:18

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty (written by Joachim Neander, translated by Catherine Winkworth, sung by Fernando Ortega)

"Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits--
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." Psalm 103:1-5
"May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You." Psalm 67:3

"Praise to the Lord, who with marvelous wisdom hath made thee, decked thee with health, and with loving hand guided and stayed thee. How oft in grief hath not He brought thee relief, spreading His wings to o'er shade thee!" (the fourth stanza of the hymn that is not sung in this video)

The Sovereign Lord is My Strength!

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.  The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights." Habakkuk 3:17-19

I hope and pray that God will always enable me to trust in Him no matter what and to say: "Though...whatever I have to go through in life...(trials, sufferings, losses, etc.), yet I will rejoice in the Lord!"  He is indeed my strength and comfort.  Circumstances change but He never changes.  We can always be joyful in who He is.

The Lowly Things

"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.  He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.  It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.  Therefore, as it is written: 'Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.'" 1 Corinthians 1:27-31

For He Cares

"Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall." Psalm 55:22

Let's leave our burdens, concerns, fears, worries, problems at Jesus's feet.  He truly cares for you and me!  His grace is sufficient for us; His power is made perfect in our weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9a)  We can rest in His love, grace, and mercy.  God is in control; we just need to trust and obey.
